Basic Hair Hygiene Routine At Home For Brides
Every girl or bride-to-be dreams of looking like a vision right out of a fairy tale on her wedding day, thanks to the story of Rapunzel and also because it’s her big day after all. But for Indian girls, it’s very difficult to maintain good hair in the times we live especially when your wedding day is near.
Yes, besides makeup and skincare, we dream of the perfect hairdo according to our face shape. You don’t want a flat look or wear a big bun because of the texture of your hair, so a bride has to follow and maintain a regular hair care routine in her pre-bridal hair care.
So, what we need is a little extra care to look after our precious tresses. Event Panda brings you 6 quick easy hair care tips that guarantee excellent results.
1. A Good Diet
It is a well-known fact that most Indian women are undernourished (well, thanks to our newfound love for the skinny build). Especially, the vegetarians tend to lack omega fatty acids and vitamin B12, which is significant for hair.
Here are some food items you must include in your diet for better hair – fish, eggs, spinach, lentils, milk, beans, cashews, peanuts, dried watermelon seeds, roast beef, oysters, etc. So, to-be-brides must take charge of their own health.
Yes, the most basic and traditional and ancient and useful way to groom your hair. Oiling your hair is very important but in the correct manner. Use warm coconut/olive/almond oil and massage it onto your scalp in circular motions.
Dip a thick towel in hot water and wrap it around your head after draining the excess water. Keeping the oil overnight and washing it off in the morning, is the best.
3. Hair Wash
Remember, you must wash the oil off before going out, as it attracts dust and dirt. Some people claim that washing hair daily is healthy, but the truth is the opposite of it.
Ideally, you should wash your hair only twice or thrice a week. However, if you have very oily hair, you must start using dry shampoo. It's quick and it won’t cause any hair fall.
4. Deep Conditioning
Conditioning is very important for your hair. So, if you don’t already use conditioner, start using it now. You must follow with a conditioner after shampoo; otherwise, your hair will be frizzy and brittle.
Conditioner gives the mane an extra shine making it look extra healthy.
Now, deep conditioning can be done with homemade recipes, like egg + olive oil + few drops of honey or egg + beer.
Apply the mixture, hold for half an hour, and wash off with cool water. This will make your hair smoother shinier and also stimulate growth.
Now you must be thinking what the tip about brushing the hair is, but there are many people who don’t know the right way to brush hair. Always choose a brush with natural bristles.
Metal brushes are the enemy to your hair. Do not brush wet hair, as they tend to get entangled in the brush and break.
Use comb only to detangle your hair, otherwise, use a brush. Brushing improves the blood circulation in your head, which stimulates hair growth.
Last but not least...
6. Hair Masks
There is one method of application of hair mask for all masks mentioned here:
- Mix all the ingredients in a bowl
- Massage scalp in a circular motion and don’t rub the roots
- Apply on hair section by section from roots to tips
- Take a towel, soak in hot water, squeeze and wrap around the head for 20 min.
- Take off the towel and leave the mask further for 20 min
- Now, 1st rinse with lukewarm water to remove the mask from hair
- Do shampoo and conditioner with lukewarm water
- Give it a rinse with cold water to close the follicle
- Dry the hair with a cotton T-shirt, apply serum, let them air dry and style as desired
